2007 Ontario Aboriginal Tourism Summit

NONTA is a non-profit corporation

Northern Ontario is one of the world’s top destinations for Aboriginal Tourism.  Visitors come here to experience the spirit of the land and reconnect with Mother Earth.  The Northern Ontario Native Tourism Association (NONTA) works with its members to bring our visitors the very best in Aboriginal tourism products, from eco-tourism, wilderness adventure and fishing to wildlife viewing and cultural/historical tours.

Representing Aboriginal-owned and operated tourism operators and suppliers in Northern Ontario. When NONTA began in 1987,the focus was marketing of outpost fishing camps - we still do that, but we’ve expanded way beyond just one niche.  Today, NONTA is on the leading edge of the Aboriginal tourism industry in Canada.

Aboriginal tourism has many opportunities for creating new tourism businesses and jobs . NONTA’s mandate is to assist its members in developing, marketing and promoting their tourism products for the global marketplace.

Aboriginal culture is strong here in Northern Ontario, rooted in rich heritage, language, food, storytelling, traditions and an untamed rugged landscape.  We have much to share with our guests.
